The final match of this season’s “Results Base” Chiltern cross-country league takes place on Saturday 13th February 2016 at Campbell Park, Milton Keynes.
We’ve had a lot of fun times travelling to the previous four fixtures at Keysoe, Bedford; Teardrop Lakes, Milton Keynes; Culham Park and last Saturday at Wigmore Valley Park in Luton. I think it’s fair to say that our mid-table showing this season reflects the patchy attendance of our male team. There have been ever presents but on each occasion we have fell short of the eight runners needed for a maximum score in the men’s event, meaning we have missed out on some much needed valuable points. Anyway we can’t make any better of that now, what’s gone has gone.
However, here’s an appeal to all the fellas of Thame Runners out there to make an extra special effort to attend the final match in Milton Keynes on February 13th. Campbell Park is a great venue and wouldn’t it be marvellous to have our “big blue erection” bursting at the seams with eager Thame Runners ready to give their all for the club and whoosh us up the table by a few places at least to end the season on a high note.
At this point I must make a special mention to the girls who have turned out in big numbers, whatever the weather, for all the matches. You’ve done the club proud. Now it’s time for the men to step up to the plate and end the season on a high note.
Please register your interest in competing to Ben or Rod on any training night between now and February 13th. Come on Thame!!!!!
