The promotions and relegations will be confirmed shortly, to take account of the Ladies Division starting in 2013 (see below)
5 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2013
At the recent Thame Runners Committee Meeting some changes were agreed: Firstly, because we now have a large group of keen lady members, they will have their own Division in 2013, with Divs. 1 &2 becoming Men Only. The Committee hopes that this will encourage more of our girls to run and compete regularly. Secondly, to encourage more men and women to participate in the Apex Chilterns Cross Country League, and make our teams more competitive, the first races in the Winter 2013/14 season will be Club Championship events.
Chris Downs and a panel of experts in the Racquets Bar has chosen the Championship races for the first part of next year:
Jan.20 Fred Hughes 10m St.Albans www.stalbansstriders.com/index.php/racing/fred-hughes-10
Feb.24 Winslow 10k http://www.winslowlions.org.uk/
**Mar.3 Silverstone Half Marathon http://adidashalfmarathon.co.uk/
Mar.29 Maidenhead 10m http://www.maidenheadac.co.uk/easter+10/general

** Members trying to enter are reporting that this race is already full up. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find races that still accept entries on the day and/or do not fill their quota of entries months ahead. So if you are serious about competing in the 2013 Championship you must plan ahead. The Milton Keynes Half will be an alternative Championship Half Marathon.
6 APEX SPORTS CHILTERN CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE
The races are all around 6 miles for men, 4 miles for women over a variety of off-road courses. Here are the dates of the remaining races for the 2012/13 season: January 12th – Luton, February 9th – Wing.
