This week the club has received its annual invitation from Marlborough Running Club to take part in the 2016 Ridgeway Relay. The event is always a big favourite with Thame Runners, even though last year we had a difficult job in cobbling a team together due to injuries and late withdrawals. We actually paid for two teams to enter so this year we have a free ticket.
Please let Rod or Ben, or any other committee member know if you would like to be included in this year’s team. Please think carefully before doing this, i.e. check holiday or any other commitments before confirming your interest.
This year the Ridgeway is returning to its original Sunday slot, which will probably clash with Fathers Day but this doesn’t seem to present too many problems for us. The date of the relay will be Sunday 19th June. We’ll gauge how much interest there is before deciding whether we enter one or two teams.
Teddy Hall Relays – Wednesday 9th March
On the subject of relays, Jane is looking to recruit a number of Thame Runners to compete in this year’s Teddy Hall Relays, which start and finish on the world famous Iffley Road track in Oxford. Committing to this is obviously difficult for those of us who work as the event is held on a Wednesday afternoon, but I’m sure there are a number of people who can fit this into their diaries who are either retirees or are self employed and can adjust their working hours.
Please talk to Jane on a training night to register your interest.
