Cross-Country fun

Two matches down and three to go.

Last Saturday five men and five ladies travelled to Teardrop Lakes, a beautiful park in the Loughton area of Milton Keynes. The early morning rain and blustery wind gave way to calmer conditions and even a little sunshine as the afternoon progressed. Everyone had a great afternoon’s run over a challenging course which included a couple of man made hills which would have made Edmund Hillary’s eyes water! It’s all part of the fun though.

The full results of our first two matches at MK and the first outing of the season at Keysoe near Bedford will be up on the site in the near future.

The next match is on Saturday December 5th at Culham near Abingdon. It would be just magnificent if we could encourage more club members to come along and represent the club. The ladies race is at 1.15. p.m. over a 6k. course¬†followed by the men at 2.00 p.m. who run in the region of 9k.. Apart from the Ridgeway Relay in the summer, the Chiltern League provides the one and only opportunity for us to run as a team. So if your diary is free on December 5th we would love to have you along to join the regulars. If the running isn’t enough there’s also the chance to have a refreshing drink in The Six Bells afterwards. If you need any further information have a look at the Chiltern Cross Country League website, or speak to Ben or Rod on training nights. Hope to see you very soon
