As the Towersey sun sets in the west, the 2018 Dusk Dash will be taking place along the leafy lanes and Phoenix Trail along a 5k course which has become familiar territory in recent years for Thame Runners.
The sister race, the Spring Stagger, enticed a large number of the club’s runners a few months back and with a number of new faces joining in recent weeks there should be a large gathering on September 12th.
The weather is always a little unpredictable at most times of the year in the UK and the Towersey events have had their fair share of hot sun and drenching rain since Graham “the Stagman” Turner unleashed his idea to the club’s masses. He will be there once again, armed with clipboard and stopwatch to record this year’s participants, along with loyal sidekick Rod. Come along and be part of the fun.
Wednesday 12th September at the crossroads in Towersey and afterwards at The Three Horseshoes pub down the road….where else?
Since the “Spring Stagger” and “Dusk Dash” events started back in 2016, there have been 53 different runners taking part over the now familiar 5k. course.
For those of us who devour statistics and trends, you may like to cast your eye over the following document which shows all the archived times. You will notice that the column headed 2018 Dusk Dash predictions is currently empty as we are mulling over the target times with a few weeks still to go.
